Last month, we also brought you news of the Pavillion Restaurant, where hatted chef Stefano Mondonico is taking the reins in the kitchen, joined by Head Chef Aoife Sugrue. Now, we can reveal what it looks (and tastes) like.

The HerCanberra team were honoured to be the first guests to experience the new menu and from wild creamy mushrooms with soft poached eggs and truffles to a whole quail with roasted celeriac puree, red char, and port, we can say that the hearty offering is perfect for winter in Canberra – and it tasted as good as it looked.

Bangarra Dance Theatre’s Horizon – the company’s first mainstage cross-cultural collaboration, where leading Māori choreographer and Arts Laureate Moss Te Ururangi Patterson has joined forces with celebrated Bangarra alumna Deborah Brown – is coming to Canberra and you could be attending and dining in style thanks to Canberra Theatre Centre and Cicada Bar!

@canberratheatrecentre has given us 2 x double passes to give away to see Horizon on Saturday 20 July at 7.30 pm alongside @cicada.bar to help give you the perfect evening at the theatre, on the house! These two packages include 2 tickets to Horizon + a pre-show dinner for two at Cicada Bar with two seafood starters, a charcoal grilled wagyu steak with chips and dessert to finish.

🍕 An award-winning pizza chef has opened his own pizza truck! After coming in at 100th place in The Best Chef Awards (and as just one of two Australians named), Thapa Magar Hemnath has just launched his very own pizza truck @hemandco_mobile_pizzeria.

💐 It blew up the Canberra social-media sphere but in case you missed the news, @harrisfarmmarkets has finally opened in Majura Park. From the crowds we’ve seen swarming the farmers-market style shopping experience, it looks like their offerings of fresh fruit and veggies – including locally grown and organic options – and flower market are a hot hit. Oh, and it helps that Three Mills is now slinging coffees there too.
