A new ‘BurgerHero’ for burger lovers

Megan Sparke

Food lovers get ready! There’s a new kid on the block ready to redefine our love for the traditional hamburger.

BurgerHero has joined the foodie scene in Braddon with the aim of serving delicious burgers, made to order and customised to suit every taste. Burgers are made to order from local produce in full view of the restaurant.

The menu aims to challenge our concept of traditional hamburger ingredients. At BurgerHero you can enjoy a fresh grilled lean beef patty, lightly sprayed with a distinct smokey flavour, extra American cheese & mild chipotle sauce or a haloumi burger with grilled eggplant, garlic mushrooms, zucchini and baby spinach (or anything in between).

The idea of BurgerHero was formed late last year by co-owners Shelle and Mick’s love of burgers and a desire to re-format the way in which burgers can be enjoyed. After spending time in the Australian Defence Force, six months ago Shelle and Mick decided to return to their hospitality roots in the shape of a quaint burger shop in an ideal location.

Mick and Shelle have taken the time to experiment with a variety of flavour combinations with the aim to deliver burgers that will be healthier than other fast food options, something that is cooked fresh and timely but without the expense of ‘gourmet’ burger franchises.

With the doors opening last week, customers are enjoying a relaxed, diner-style atmosphere with friendly service built on old-fashioned principles.

BurgerHero also has a gelato bar, boasting a rotating range of award-winning flavour options and desserts catering for a range of dietary considerations.
