It’s the final countdown for Hits of 2020

With just one week left to go of Hits of 2020, it’s the final countdown to find out which local businesses will scoop the final categories—and who will be crowned the overall winner.
It’s been a huge two weeks for HIT104.7, HerCanberra and Coordinate as we’ve taken to the streets, meeting the amazing winners of Hits of 2020.
A joint initiative of these three local-focused businesses, Hits of 2020 has awarded 11 businesses so far with titles ranging from Gums & Roses (Best Florist) to Top of the Shops (Best Shops), spreading a bit of much-needed recognition to Canberra businesses that have done it tougher than ever in 2020.
For Coordinate Creative Strategist Logan Ayers, one of the creative team behind Hits of 2020, it’s been amazing to see Canberra get behind the campaign and support local.
“I think the success of the campaign has really showcased how much Canberra wanted to help,” he says.
“The community sought a way to assist their favourite local and got the chance to directly reward businesses after a challenging year through Hits of 2020. Coordinate along with HerCanberra and the Hit Network are very proud of the response throughout the campaign and will continue to support the community wherever we can.”
As for the businesses themselves, Adam Slusser, whose business Superior Painting and Maintenance scooped Best Tradie, says his team was “shocked and over the moon” when they received the phone call, while Louize Glenn, Corporate Affairs Manager for Eastlake Gungahlin whose pub Cnrstone took out Best Pub, says it was heart-warming to see their fans rally behind them.
“We were proud to be announced Best Pub because we knew that our patrons and staff had gotten around us and thrown us their votes,” she says. “We have awesome patrons and fab staff—two key ingredients that make for a cracking good time.”
Drew Daskalakis (pictured above, second from left), owner of Anthos Flowers in Gungahlin, couldn’t agree more.
“Being named the winner of [Best Florist]…what a great feeling to be recognised for the hard work and passion we have put into our small business by the Canberra community.”
With just one week remaining, now is your chance to give this recognition to your favourite business by casting your vote here! The categories still to be decided are: Best Pie/Bakery, Best Gym/Health or Fitness Facility, and the business making the biggest impact on the community!
Make sure to listen to Ned & Josh on HIT104.7 each morning to find out which category they’ll be voting for that day, and keep an eye on their Instagram to find out the winners.
