When I started HerCanberra from my spare room in 2011, I was one of a small handful of independent publishers in the Canberra market. The media landscape was dominated by the big guys.
More than a decade on, things are changing. Yes, the long-established mastheads still play a leading role in the industry – but more and more diverse voices are emerging, allowing us to meet the needs of our communities.
The Digital Publishers Alliance (DPA) is an industry body representing the leading independent publishers in the country – alongside titles like Broadsheet, Concrete Playground, The Squiz, Future Women, Mamamia, Time Out, Urban List and, locally, Region Media.
We are a proud member of the DPA, and for the first time we are conducting research into the audiences of a broad range of digital publishers of all shapes and sizes.
We’d like to hear your thoughts on Australian digital. Your answers will help us better understand your relationships with publishers like us so we can continue creating content that you love.
