Posted on
For musical and theatre lovers, Darren Criss needs no introduction.
After all, who didn’t melt when he performed his iconic cover of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream in Glee? But for those most familiar with Darren as the heartthrob of Dalton Academy, strap in—because there’s plenty more to this Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild award-winner than meets the eye.
A multi-faceted artist with a career spanning television, film, music and stage, Darren’s repertoire includes roles on Broadway in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (winning the Broadway.com award for favourite replacement for his portrayal of J. Pierrepont Finch), the title role in Hedwig and The Angry Inch and most recently, starring opposite Laurence Fishburne and Sam Rockwell in David Mamet’s Tony Award-nominated play American Buffalo. He also created group StarKids while studying at the University of Michigan, which shot to fame through the cult hit A Very Potter Musical.
Now, Darren is coming to Canberra with his four-piece band—and run, don’t walk to snap up your tickets. Appearing for one night only at Canberra Theatre Centre, Darren will perform a variety of hits from across his career on Broadway and TV as well as his albums Human, Homework, Masquerade, and more!

“For well over a decade, I’ve been supremely grateful for the continued support that Australia has shown for all my shenanigans on the other side of the planet,” says Darren.
“I’ve likewise felt so guilty that I’ve never gotten the proper opportunity to show that appreciation in person. This short run of shows throughout Oz is a small token of that gratitude, and I hope that adding a couple more can make up for lost time with so many folks that have cheered me on since the beginning!”
