Still hung up on Madonna? Express yourself at Madonna40!

Calling all Madonna lovers, the Queen of Pop is coming to Canberra – but she (sadly) won’t be taking the stage.
Instead, superfan and collector of all things Madonna, Jerry Kirbell is celebrating his love of the global sensation by presenting a special exhibition of Madonna memorabilia at the Canberra Museum and Gallery.
The exhibition (titled Madonna40: A Celebration) will be open until Sunday 3 March 2024 and we personally believe that Jerry should take a bow, not only for his commitment to collecting but because the pieces he chose to display reflect the importance of Madonna’s career – but also her global impact on music, fashion, and the queer community.
Lovingly collecting tour merchandise, clothing, rare photographs, and autograph pieces since 1984, not only is the collection vast, but it’s the ultimate celebration of Madonna’s amazing four-decade-long career.
But that’snot all!
On Friday 10 November from 7 pm to 10 pm, you can ask Mister DJ to put a record on and dance with your baby because Into the Groove – Madonna Dance Party is on! With a performance by local drag artist Venus Mantrap, and Madonna music playing all night long it’s going to be…Vogue.
Strap on your cone bras, perm the hair, and find the most Material Girl outfit you can, because you’re in for a treat. From themed cocktails, to a grazing table, wine, and beer, and (of course) the chance to see the astounding exhibition you’ll hear Jerry chat with Venus about Madonna’s impact before spending the evening belting out the lyrics to Like a Virgin, Papa Don’t Preach and so much more.
Just make sure to book ahead because tickets are essential.
Everyone spread the word – we’re gonna have a celebration.
