Following a challenging 12 months for the Canberra property market, one estate agency has triumphed at two annual award nights, taking home several gongs both locally and internationally – marking a huge achievement for the business.
Walking away with Large Agency of the Year at the Real Estate Institute of the ACT’s (REIACT) Awards for Excellence, the talented team from LJ Hooker Canberra City was recognised among more than 350 Canberra real estate professionals across 33 award categories.
Already well known and loved amongst the ACT community, LJ Hooker Projects ACT’s franchise owner Andrew Ligdopoulos was proud of his team’s exceptional performance – and is thrilled to see them go on to represent the ACT at the Real Estate Institute of Australia National Awards for Excellence in May 2024.
“This is a huge achievement for a local Canberra business,” says Andrew.
“Not only did we achieve the ACT recognition of the best agency of the year with the REIACT amongst the industry in Canberra, but we also won huge achievements on a national and international level within the LJ Hooker community of over 400 agencies.”
Taking place the following evening, LJ Hooker Projects ACT also picked up a noteworthy nine awards at the iconic LJ Hooker real estate’s Night of the Stars Awards – an annual ceremony showcasing the very best in sales, property management, commercial real estate, and operations by showcasing the unparalleled contributions of LJ Hooker offices across Australia.
According to Andrew (who took home Top Business Owner of the Year) the secret to their success is great teamwork – especially following a year of a constantly changing market that has impacted everyone involved in the real estate industry.
Up against over 80 ACT and NSW offices, among the extensive list of awards LJ Hooker Projects ACT walked away with Most Productive Team, Best Value Growth Office, Top Residential Sale Office – Volume, Top Residential Sales Office – Value, and Top Residential Office All Income.
Also receiving international recognition at the Night of the Stars Awards –– Andrew says what makes LJ Hooker City stand out from the crowd is their dedication to their people and their skills.
“It wasn’t just what happened in the past 12 months – the awards were an accumulation of many years of hard work from everyone,” he says.
“For me personally, it was lovely being recognised as Business Owner of the Year and it wasn’t something I had been expecting. I am mindful that the award couldn’t happen unless I have good people behind me and that works vice versa – so you need to have leadership and a cohesive team striving together.”
