There’s nothing like a hot cup of tea on a cold day – and as the autumn weather begins to set in and the temperature drops, our minds are starting to look for excuses to make a cuppa, grab a blanket, and curl up with a good book. So, we thought we would spill the tea on some local producers that are keeping us warm.
AIKICHA
Specialising in hand-blended loose-leaf teas inspired by musical theatre (think Bohemian Raspberry!, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert Blooms, Brew-meo & Juliet, M’oolong Rouge! and Madama Butterfly Pea), AIKICHA is a local business that launched in 2023 by Aiki Choh (you might have spotted her at the Little Burley and Haig Park Village Markets).

Calling all chai lovers, this one’s for you. Handmade with love, RealChai was founded in 2008 to bring real tea, real spices, and real chai to the Canberra café scene. Offering loose-leaf chai, chai lattes, and honey chai tea (as well as some really cute mugs – because they make everything taste better), it’s heaven in a cup.
