What if you could be transported to Platform 9 ¾ to catch the next train to Hogwarts, sail with Jack Sparrow on the Pearl, or fight beside Luke Skywalker to rescue Princess Leia – all with the power of music?
Fortunately, this is no longer a matter of what if, but a matter of when and where. And don’t worry, we have all the answers!
Debuting at the Snow Concert Hall on Sunday 8 September, Heroes and Villains will be an enchanting concert showcasing the epic and moving musical pieces from some of the most iconic films of all time. Having produced and delivered outstanding symphonic works with Canberra’s musical talent for over 40 years, the National Capital Orchestra will not disappoint with this highly anticipated show.
Masterfully leading the performance will be music director Louis Sharpe, who is known for his great passion for connecting with audiences through the power of music. Working alongside him are the seasoned musicians that will use their talents to bring the magical worlds of your favourite movies to life, with no guarantee that you’ll fully return to reality once the curtains draw.
This thrilling program of iconic film music will begin with the sweeping melodies of Star Wars, followed by the epic grandeur of Lord of the Rings, and the thrilling heroics of Dam Busters. After the short interval, you’ll be swept off your feet by the Harry Potter soundtrack, feel your heart race when the Pirates of the Caribbean medley echoes across the room, and be utterly inspired by the Interstellar suite. To warm the hearts of every person present, musical masterpieces from How to Train Your Dragon will bring the performance to an impressive close.
As Sharpe eloquently describes: “This concert is a celebration of the magic of movies and the majesty of live music. We are thrilled to bring these cinematic masterpieces to life and offer an unforgettable experience for our audience.”
To appreciate cinema like never before with this musical work of art, book your seat like your life depends on it before all the fandoms grab the remaining spots! Tickets are available now for all ages and range from $32.15 to $63.30 per person, with a special price on offer for families of two adults and two children.
