Dreaming of days spent wandering through the streets of a French village, eating warm baguettes paired with cheese and sipping on wine?
You don’t need a plane ticket to get a taste of France this spring, because the Alliance Française French Market is back for another year.
Transforming Alliance Francaise de Canberra into a bustling hub of all things French, the annual market has made a name for itself as a culinary and cultural extravaganza. Hosting more than 30 stalls, from 10 am until 3 pm on Saturday 16 November you can explore all things French – from the culture to the food and drinks.
We’re talking sumptuous wines and cheeses to saucissons, truffles, baguettes, croissants, and chocolate.
But that’s not all because there will be stalls dedicated to infusing a touch of French elegance into your life with napery, clothing, books, artworks, and jewellery. With stall holders from across Australia converging in Canberra to offer the best of France to our city, it promises to mirror a quintessential French market, blending fresh, high-quality produce, art, crafts, fashion, and tableware.
And if you listen closely you’ll hear the sweet sound of French being spoken among the stallholders and French-speaking patrons.
Designed to be fun for the entire family, throughout the day, live music will fill the air (setting the perfect backdrop for your French-inspired adventure) and there will be plenty of activities to keep the kids engaged in a ‘Frenchy’ way.
No matter if you’re a seasoned Francophile or just curious about French cuisine, it sounds like you’ll be saying a resounding “oui, oui!” to a day brimming with French-inspired delights and culture.
