The 5 Makeup Brushes You Must Own!
Posted on
Makeup Brushes are important for making sure you get the best makeup application daily. Not only do they make your look consistently flawless but they also make your products last longer and go further!
So what are the essential brushes you will need? Let’s go through them!
Foundation Brush
If you wear liquid or cream foundation, a foundation brush is essential! Much better than a sponge which will soak up all your product and is impossible to clean…and less messy than using your fingers!
Look for a flat synthetic bristle brush that is firm enough to hold its shape. My own personal use foundation brush is from Target and costs about $5 – for using on yourself it does the job.
Blush Brush
The blush brush is an essential brush to own because it is a multitasker – you can use it to apply your blush, bronzer and even face powder! It doesn’t matter if you buy a sable (real hair) or a synthetic brush, it should be fluffy enough to blend your products on but firm enough to give you a precise application.
Pro tip: If you do your makeup on the go then try to find a retractable brush with a lid so the hair stays perfect.
Eye Shadow Brush
If you wear eye shadows, then an eye shadow brush is absolutely essential! It is the only way to create a beautifully blended eye design and also keeps your colours in tip top condition till the very end. I prefer a larger eyeshadow brush so that you work less to put more eyeshadow on, but if you are a newbie at using brushes, start with a smaller size till you get the hang of it.
Angle Brush
This brush is also one with multiple uses; use it to softly apply eyeshadow around the eye in the place of eyeliner, and you can use it to draw in your brows. Don’t rush out and buy an expensive one – most art stores will carry these flat angled brushes and it will be cheaper.
Eyebrow Comb
This handy tool comes with almost every makeup set or brush set you will ever buy. You can use this brush to comb your brows into shape or push your eyebrows up ready for trimming. Put a little hairspray on the fluffy side to stick your unruly brows down all day and use it to separate eyelashes that have been clumped together with mascara. With so many uses, you should always make sure you have one handy!
Brush Kit
If you are thinking that going out and finding each one of these brushes sounds an awful lot like hard work, then look for a brush set that contains each one! Here is one that you can purchase online from Make Up and Glow – I really recommend it for personal use.
