Zip through the treetops: Canberra gets a zipline-only aerial course

Posted on
Treetops Adventure Canberra Park has unveiled an exciting new addition to its popular Majura Pines location – a zipline-only aerial course.
There’s something about being suspended 12 metres above the ground, looking down a 90-metre zipline that cuts through the Majura Pines, that makes even the most composed person feel like a kid again. It’s that perfect blend of terror and excitement that outdoor enthusiasts know well.
Treetops Adventure Canberra will open its first zipline-only aerial course tomorrow, adding another layer to what’s already become a popular weekend destination for local families. After a year of watching guests gravitate toward the zipline elements of their rope courses, they’ve created something specifically for those who want more flying, less climbing.
The new course features 12 fast-paced ziplines ranging from a gentle 20-metre glide to that magnificent 90-metre rush that’ll have you whooping with joy as you soar through the pine trees. Four timber bridges and platforms carry adventurers to heights that offer stunning views across the Majura landscape, creating an experience that’s equal parts exhilarating and breathtakingly beautiful.
The course has been built using methods that don’t damage the trees – no drilling, minimal impact on the natural environment. It’s a thoughtful approach that fits well with Canberra’s outdoor culture.
Open to anyone eight years and older, the experience takes about 20 to 30 minutes from start to finish. It’s designed to complement the existing rope courses, where visitors navigate suspended bridges, balance beams, and various climbing challenges through the canopy. The new zipline is an add-on to a regular park ticket.
For anyone curious about trying something different on a weekend, the new zipline course provides another option in Canberra’s growing collection of outdoor activities.
