Bricking news – the Giant Charity LEGO sale is back for 2026

Posted on

LEGO lovers and brick-heads rejoice! Roundabout Canberra’s Great LEGO Sale is back for another year.

It’s happening this weekend – be there or be square! On Saturday 9 May at Thoroughbred Park, Canberra families and LEGO lovers are invited to attend the much-loved community event to browse hundreds of minifigures, with plenty of opportunities to pick up LEGO at accessible price points.

From loose bricks and affordable sets through to a mix of themed builds spanning favourites – including Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Minecraft – collectors and casual builders alike will be sure to find something to take home.

With the addition of a BBQ and bake sale, Roundabout Canberra CEO Hannah Andrevski says the focus of this year’s event is to continue running a fun, inclusive and hands-on event the whole community will enjoy.

“What makes this event special is the sense of discovery. You never quite know what you’ll find – whether it’s a set you have been desperate to get your hands on, or a bag of bricks that sparks a whole new creation,” she says.

“This is more than just a sale. It’s about bringing people together, getting kids building, and creating a space where people of all ages can enjoy LEGO. Last year, we even saw three generations shopping together – grandparents, parents and kids all hunting for the perfect pieces to complete their builds.”

Along with a dedicated space for kids to build and create on the day, the 2026 Great LEGO Sale will also include loose LEGO sold at $30 per kilogram, Duplo sold at $20 per kilogram, pre-packed mystery bags for easy options and a build-your-own minifig station.

With thousands of pieces available and something for all ages, the money raised will go towards funding Roundabout Canberra’s work in the community.

“We’ve seen a 28 per cent increase in demand for our services over the past year,” Hannah explains.

“Events like this help us respond to that need, while also giving the community a really positive and practical way to get involved.”

Every purchase helps provide essential items like clothing, nappies and school supplies to local children and families in need.

Entry is via a gold coin donation and with doors swinging open promptly at 10 am and closing at 3 pm, you’d better snap to it.
