The best of Canberra’s businesses were revealed from 18 finalists in the 2014 Telstra ACT Australian Business Awards last night at QT Canberra.
Intelledox, a Canberra-based global software company that is revolutionising business processes and competing with some of the biggest names in IT was named the 2014 Telstra Australian Capital Territory Business of the Year.
Founded by Australian National University science graduates Phillip Williamson and Michelle Melbourne in 1992, Intelledox has attracted more than one million worldwide users to its software product, Infiniti.
The flagship product helps organisations to digitise and streamline paper-based information processes, mitigate risk and improve customer communication. A response to the demand for mobile-enabled business solutions, Infiniti was named one of Australia’s most innovative products or services on Anthill Magazine’s 2013 Smart 100 list.
The business has experienced rapid international expansion from its small base in Fyshwick, with 35 staff now based in offices in Singapore, Toronto and last year opened offices in New York and London.
Continuing the digital innovation trend, digital security contractor, Cogito Group, was named winner of the Start-Up category – recognised for its digital inscription technology that protects key public infrastructure from hackers and cyber attacks.
Other winners were Phillip-based micro business, Solace Creations, which specialises in energy efficient windows and doors, and father and son small business, Today’s Homes, which provides custom design and construction services for residential home-builders.
More than $800,000 in prizes will be shared by winners of the 2014 state, territory and national Telstra Business Awards – a program that has celebrated Australian small and medium businesses since 1992. The ACT winners will progress to the national Awards in Melbourne on 7 August.
