Break your fast for breast cancer research

Posted on

The University of Canberra is making huge inroads into the treatment of breast cancer thanks to the efforts of Professor Sudha Rao and her team of young scientists and talented clinicians from the Canberra Hospital.

They are inviting you to hear more about their world-leading research and support their ongoing work at a special breakfast to be held on Friday October 14, at the UC. All profits from the breakfast will support the UC’s Cancer Research Fund.

Sudha is a research scientist working in the areas of genetics and cancer biology and is close to a breakthrough treatment to prevent breast cancer recurrence and to tackle ovarian cancer.

The work has the potential to save many lives.

Joining Sudha will be another UC high flyer, Kate Mason, who’s impressive CV includes being appointed the Chief Transformation Office for Coca-Cola after working in human resources across the world in Zurich, Singapore and New York.

Comparing the event will be a third UC distinguished alumna, HerCanberra founder and director Amanda Whitley.

The breakfast will be a great networking opportunity as well as a chance to understand just how research can translate to potentially tackling one of our most devastating health issues.

Donor support is vital for the research to continue to be fast-tracked. Breakfast will cost $44 per person with 100 per cent of the charge going to the research.
