Are you looking for your next active goal?

Whether you’re keen to sink your teeth into a cheeky 5 km fun run, your first half-marathon or even an ultramarathon, here’s what’s on offer in Canberra and surrounds in 2019.

The Canberra Triathlon Festival

Swim, bike and run – a triathlon is a challenging test of endurance and cardio. This festival caters to both beginners to advanced athletes with flexible participation options.

Choose between signing up as an individual or if you can’t manage all three events, enter a corporate or community team.

Saturday 9 February | Teams of 3 $105, Individuals $75 | eliteenergy.com.au/event/canberra-triathlon-festival

In its 13th year, the walk aims to raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation and registration. They’re calling all Canberrans to lace up their walking shoes, bring their friends, colleagues, family members and pets and walk for a great cause.

Come early to receive a free t-shirt, hat and gift bag (first in, first served) and finish the morning off with a free BBQ breakfast thanks to Lions Club Canberra Belconnen.

Wednesday 13 February from 6.45 am |  giftoflife.asn.au

Relay For Life

An overnight running event to raise awareness and fundraise for the Cancer council research. Rally a group of friends together and walk, jog or run for a good cause.

23 – 24 March | $30 per person | relayforlife.org.au

The Canberra Running Festival

A family fun event for runners of all levels, participants can choose from the 5km or 10k track on Saturday which is open to walkers and strollers.

Or, if you’re up to the challenge, the half marathon, marathon and ultra marathon events are held on Sunday.

13-14 April | Child $30, Adult $40 | runningfestival.com.au

2019 MS 24hr Mega Swim

Getting fit and supporting a good cause are just two of many great reasons to be a part of the MS Mega Swim, a 24-hour swim event to raise awareness and fundraise for multiple sclerosis.

The only rule is that one member of your team must always be in the water, so with a maximum of fifteen members on a team, this should be a breeze.

Saturday 4 May from 12 pm to Sunday 5 May 12 pm | Under 16 $35, Adults $45 | msmegaswim.org.au

The Bravehearts 777

Seven marathons in seven days in seven states. The Bravehearts 777 is an exhilarating challenge which will see participants run marathons in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Launceston, Sydney, Canberra and the Gold Coast.

State runners in Canberra have an option of a 7km, 14km, 21km or 42km run.

Saturday 6 July | $50 | bravehearts.org.au/777
