Some quick walks in Tuggeranong to slip into your daily planner

Posted on

Phones down and shoes on. We’ve rounded up a few of our favourite walks in Tuggeranong for you!

Craving a little outdoor time but on that nine-to-five grind? We feel you! Here are some of our favourite walks to slip into your busy day to get that much-needed Vitamin D boost (weather permitting).

From hills and lakes to a few sneaky coffee shops, we’ve got you covered. What’re you waiting for? The great outdoors is calling.

Tuggeranong Hill Nature Reserve

Submerge yourself in nature and forget your worries at this beautiful reserve. Take a hike to the hill summit and take in the scenic views of the Tuggeranong Valley and Bullen Range. If hills aren’t your thing ( understandable!) be sure to meander about the stunning woodlands until you feel your worries disappear, or you feel that lunch deadline starts to call you back—we vote for choosing the first option!

The best part? You can bring your dog along with you for that much-needed R&R time, so pack that leash!

Total walk time of the entire reserve is two hours and 20 minutes.

Tuggeranong Lake

With an endless expanse of water views, the Tuggeranong Lake is the perfect place to stretch your legs after being cooped up for so long—especially if you’re after a little hideaway rather than a long trek. And if you’re looking for a little pit stop along the way, bring your latest read and curl up on one of the many shaded chairs along the pathway or, dip your toes into the sand on the Town Beach! You’ll never want to leave.

With flat paths, this walk is accessible to anyone and can go for as long as you want (or need!).

Total walk time of the Lake loop is one hour and 35 minutes.

Tuggeranong Town Park

Located beside the Tuggeranong Lake, this little park is perfect to take your kids to during that restless school holiday period or after school. Take the pressure off keeping the kids entertained and spend some quality family time at the park.

Your kids are going to love the sand pit (which has diggers!), the fort, as well as the classics (such as a slide and swings). It’s the perfect time to make some new memories (or escape the office…because even adults love swings).

Total walk time of Lake loop is one hour and 35 minutes.

 Coffee shop walks

Put down the office-made instant coffee and consider going for a walk to one of these local cafés. Or, if you’d prefer you can end your stroll around the lake with some much-deserved tea and cake.

Taking a break from your computer, getting coffee and spending some time outside, sounds like a win, win, win to us!
