Floriade
It’s time to stop and smell the flowers! Floriade is back to its former glory at Commonwealth Park this month. It’s been a few years since Canberran’s have had the chance to stroll through the sun, enjoy the stunning displays of flowers and fill our Insta feeds with pops of colour. The iconic Ferris wheel is also back to help you connect the dots on what patterns the flowers make—and of course, you can’t skip the food stands, activities, rides and more that will be available throughout the park.

Cressida Campbell
From her molasses-rich colour palette to her ability to re-imagine kitchen scraps with the deceptive ease of a film dissolve, it’s easy to get lost within Cressida Campbell’s world.

Woman in jumpsuit
A new addition has arrived at the National Gallery Sculpture Garden! Linda Marrinon’s Woman in jumpsuit is a beautiful piece of work standing over three metres tall and is cast in coloured bronze. The juxtaposition between the classical poses and modern jumpsuit communicates themes of feminism and how women have been portrayed in art throughout history.

Wall painting
Bridget Riley strays from her usual bright, joy-inducing wall paintings with her new addition to the National Gallery. A whopping seven-by-seven metres, the deep colours of the discs evoke a sense of uncanny, with all who view it walking away with a different perspective. Kids Felt Flower Badges Workshop
Kids ages eight to 14 are invited to be inspired by the springtime flowers at Lanyon Homestead to make some funky felt flower badges, ready to spice up anything that needs a pop of colour. All materials are supplied and ready to be harnessed to create whatever they imagine.

Watercolour Landscape Workshop
Join local artist Naomi Zouwer as she leads an adult-only class at Lanyon Homestead in an en plein air landscape painting session.
