Cirque Bon Bon: A sweet (and saucy) treat for eyes and ears

Is it just us, or is it getting a little hot in here…?

If you’ve been hankering for a night out that’ll make you forget all about this frosty Canberra winter, we might just have the solution – and tickets are now on sale.

Putting the sparkle back into date night, Cirque Bon Bon is coming to Canberra Theatre Centre to give you a reason to gasp that isn’t the amount of frost on your car each morning.

Having performed across Broadway, the West End and Las Vegas, the Cirque Bon Bon team are coming to Canberra fresh off the back of their sold-out Brisbane Festival season – and bringing with them a talented cast of “mind-bending contortionists, awe inspiring acrobats, and sensational dancers will deliver an exhilarating showcase of skill, artistry, and entertainment, combining death defying feats and tricks that will leave audiences of all ages clamouring for more”. I mean, what more could you want to warm up your winter?

Created by former Cirque Du Soleil Assistant Creative Director, Ash Jacks (née McCready) and Choreographer Julieann Nugent have combined the best in the business to create a 75-minute lavish cabaret-style show that’s packed with non-stop laughs, squeals, screams and stomach-dropping action.

While the show is cabaret style (and yes, we think it would be perfect for date night) Ash says audience members of all ages are welcome.

“I’ve taken shows like this all over the world for the last 14 years and we’re using every last trick in the book to make this show something you just can’t look away from,” says Ash.

Together, the ensemble has 20+ years’ experience performing for audiences across the world and now you have the chance to be front and centre to watch performers on LED-lit Cyr Wheels, death defying feats of roller disco madness, laugh out loud comedy, burlesque, aerial hoop acrobatics and yes, even someone firing an arrow with their toes while balanced on their hands.

If that doesn’t promise to warm up Canberra, we don’t quite know what will.
