As evenings become cooler, the National Museum of Australia is heating things up with a celebration of all things Italian on Saturday 12 April from 4 pm to 8.30 pm. The free event promises to transform Acton into a slice of Italy for one magical evening under the stars.

As the moon rises, the festa comes alive with performances that capture the passionate spirit of Italy. George Vumbaca, known for his smooth, soulful voice and Italian-American crooner style, will be your MC for the evening.
Don’t miss Liz Testa’s aerial artistry combined with angelic vocals as she performs on a static lyra (aerial hoop) for a unique musical experience. The passionate energy of Fratelli del Sud will transport you to southern Italy with their vibrant live band performance.

For those who appreciate Italian classics with a twist, “According to Us” features vocalist Rossella Fanelli and accordionist Paolo Campanari Brancondi blending traditional Italian songs with jazz influences. Meanwhile, “Dai, Ciccio!” brings a celebration of Italian music with opera singer Cristina Russo alongside double bassist Tom Flenady, accordionist Greco Salvatore and guitarist Adam Russo.
Rounding out the entertainment is actress Bianca Bonino, a master of commedia dell’arte – a form of Italian street theatre from the 15th century – who will delight audiences with her comic wit and timing.
