Geek out! There’s a games night this Friday at CMAG

Posted on

Nerds and geeks unite! It’s time to unleash your full potential at the Canberra Museum and Games night!

Gamers of all ages are welcome this Friday 1 December, as Canberra Museum and Gallery turns into Canberra Museum and Games for a very special gaming extravaganza.

Starting at 5 pm and ending at 9 pm, the whole family can head along for a night filled full of fun and excitement. And with ticket prices ranging from $5 to $7, did someone say ‘budget-friendly Friday night?’

Showcasing Canberra-made games, there will be a variety of local developers showcasing tabletop, digital, and VR games that you can try out and play for yourself. There will also be a space where you can create your very own board game – and yes, even noobs can come because you don’t need to be an avid gamer to have a great time.

But wait, there’s more!

If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about the Australian games industry, then step right up because there will also be talks throughout the night about all things games – including Dr Ariel Marcy, who has a PhD in evolutionary biology and is the founder and lead game designer at STEAM Galaxy Studios.

Other highlights include:

-Tegan E Smith, Jump to Jupiter Game
– Dr Ariel Marcy, Go Extinct! Game
– Kem Pobjie, Colour Crazy game
– Sean Fenemore, Hosting the “Make your own tabletop game” space
– Ruqiyah, first date/can’t relate Game
– Michael Purcell, Aloft game
– Ben Anderson & Bas Anderson, Cheesepunk!
– Oppolyon, Ascending Inferno
– Kite Shield, Moon Corp TD
– Lightning Rock, VR Escape Room
– Alex Manning, Zak Oskar, Ethan Morosi, Salvage
– Myles McRae, Dominic Lander, Liam Losanno-Innis, Get Down II
– Ronan Moss, Rainbow Bridge
– Mark Schramm, Mark’s Magnificent Marble Maze
– Tim Potter, Factory Manager

In other exciting news your ticket includes access into CMAG’s interactive family friendly exhibition On the Move (exploring transport in all its forms) and for adults, there will also be a bar running all night!

So, what are you doing still reading this article? Get yourself a ticket before they run out!
