Fancy yourself as Marketplace Gungahlin’s Mona Lisa? Your wish could come true this weekend

Posted on

A picture is worth a thousand words, but what if you could have your likeness forever framed at one of Canberra’s favourite shopping centres?

It sounds like a flex to us. But there’s a catch: it’s happening this weekend only.

On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November, Marketplace Gungahlin is hosting a one-of-a-kind live art installation, offering customers the opportunity to be literally drawn into the marketplace.

Taking place from 11 am until 2 pm on both days, the free event will see keen models step behind a sheet of perspex, strike their best pose, and watch as the talented artist Oli Sain brings your likeness to life as a cartoon sketch in real time.

Once the artwork is completed, your face will be framed and displayed on Level One of the South Building, right at the end of the Sky Bridge, immortalising you at Marketplace Gungahlin.

Just think – in years to come you could be showing off your face to your family, frozen forever alongside other members of the community.
Who doesn’t want to be remembered forever?

With only a limited amount of time to get there and have your face sketched, you better be quick – don’t miss your chance to be a part of this lasting artistic moment.
