They’ve done it again. After selling-out performances by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis in August, Snow Concert Hall is holding another concert that will have music-lovers tapping their toes.

On Saturday 7 October, be transported back to the Roaring ‘20s as star duo Daniel Röhn (pictured above) and Simon Tedeschi take to the stage for an evening filled with showpieces and classics from the golden era of the 1920s and 1930s.

For Snow Concert Hall International Series Artistic Director Ana de la Vega, herself a world-renowned classical flautist, the duo’s performance will be another exciting evening for local music lovers.

“We’re excited to host Daniel Röhn, one of the most remarkable violinists of the present day and the third generation of one of Europe’s most distinguished musical traditions, as he returns to Canberra for the first time in ten years, after performing for orchestras around the world,” says Ana.

“Daniel will perform alongside Simon Tedeschi, one of Australia’s most celebrated classical pianists who has performed for audiences, royalty and world leaders worldwide, from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall, picking up accolades like the Centenary of Federation Medal along the way.”

For lovers of classical music, Ana says the performance will be a chance to peel back the layers of this pivotal period in musical history.

“The pair will perform compositions by Kreisler, Korngold, Debussy, Gershwin, and more, Canberrans can expect to be transported back in time to a world of jazz, silent films, and creative explosion.”

For those who not only live and breathe music but also play themselves, there’s another treat in store as Röhn and Tedeschi will be also hosting masterclasses on 18 November and 8 October respectively, offering piano and violin students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from these world-class musicians.
