GoBoat just released its balloon watching tickets so run, don’t walk

Posted on

When it comes to Canberra, there’s nothing more iconic than watching the hot air balloons lift off at sunrise during the annual Canberra Balloon Spectacular.

But how can you level up this experience? By watching the balloons lift off as you drift on a GoBoat on Lake Burley Griffin, of course—and tickets for 2022 have just been released.

Taking place from 12–20 March, GoBoat’s Balloon Spectular package includes a private electric GoBoat for eight people that will set sail at 6 am for three hours of balloon watching for $299.

If you haven’t rented a GoBoat before don’t worry—when you arrive at their Kington Foreshore docks at 5.45 am, staff will take you through the ins and outs of captaining your very own boat. Naturally, an onboard picnic and hot beverages will be the cherry on top of a stellar morning (not to mention the Instagram shots).

As all Canberrans know, our autumn weather can be fickle and sometimes the balloons can be grounded or postponed a couple of hours if the wind and clouds aren’t playing ball so there are some terms and conditions to your rental. But even if the balloons aren’t launching the day you book your GoBoat, a sunrise cruise doesn’t seem like the worst way to start the day?
