Heaven Nightclub is back for one night only to take you to the clouds above

Heaven Nightclub existed during what most people would agree was the golden age of Canberra clubbing.
Open from 1993 – 2001 and located upstairs in Garema Place, Heaven was beloved by so many Canberrans – and now it’s back for one very special night only.
As part of the 2024 SpringOUT Pride Festival, Canberra’s joyous annual celebration of our city’s LGBTIQA+ community, One Night In Heaven will quite literally allow you to party like it’s 1999 – and tickets are now on sale.
Held at Dairy Road’s The Vault, the night promises to throw things back to the glory days of the club that was voted Most Popular Club in Canberra by Sony Music in 1993, just six months after opening.
Think: DJs, drag performances and performance art and more until 5 am.
As the event organisers fondly state, “Heaven was a place where you could be yourself (or anyone else), Drag Kings and Queens performed in exquisite costumes, exhibitions, live music (remember the Dreaming Genies?) theatre shows (remember SPLINTERS?), Burlesque (remember Ms Wicked?), and the best dance music in Canberra!”
“The years that followed saw hundreds of young local, interstate and international DJ’s hone and showcase their skills in the Bak Bar and on the main decks adding to the reputation of Canberra’s dance and rave scene. Drag, Performance Art, Theatre, Live Music featured heavily until the club closed on New Years Day 2001.”
Whether your danced until dawn on that night in 2001 or didn’t age into clubbing until a decade later, this is your chance to go back in time.
Meet you by the bar?
