Want to see hit pop musical SIX before anyone else in Canberra—alongside the HerCanberra team? Of course you do! Here’s how.

We have been obsessing over this stage show coming to our city as it is getting rave reviews internationally—and who doesn’t love a hit pop musical after two years of social life shut-down?

You have probably heard (or read) about it by now, but SIX delivers a high-octane modern version of the tale of the six wives of Henry VIII—think Tudor Queens turned Pop Princesses taking to the mic to reclaim their story.

Of course, the HerCanberra Team has been booked in to see the musical from the moment it announced its Canberra tour, but the truly exciting news is that now we can extend the invitation to you to join us on the very first night—Saturday 23 April. This means you will be the first in the city to see the show!

1. Actual mingling—with drinks and nibbles!

Let’s cut to the chase, we are bringing a bit of our own ‘pop’ to the pre-show experience, providing drinks and nibbles and a chance to mingle with the HerCanberra team and other theatre enthusiasts before the show even starts. If you haven’t been out in a while, here is a chance to make a night of it. While sipping champagne. At the theatre! Imagine!

2. Groups get a great deal

Because we are inviting you along, we are eligible for the group ticket price, making all of this incredible excitement just $99 a ticket. Who would argue with that?

3. Girl Power

SIX is all about girl power as these amazing women tell their side of the story of being in a relationship with Henry VIII. We can truly promise some interesting discussion points following the show and fabulous performances by feminine powerhouses of pop.

4. History

How exactly IS your knowledge of the Tudor Kings of England? Even if classical history has never been your strong point, we promise you will enjoy this vibrant and high-energy interpretation of what went down (it’s pretty dramatic material to weave together in a musical given Henry the VIII had six wives and beheaded two of them). We can promise it will make high school history classes pale in comparison.

5. A chance to get your crew together

Do you really need an excuse to grab your crew and coordinate diaries? If ever there was a time to pull a posse together for a big night of stage and sound, then SIX is it. We are all double and triple vaxxed and it’s time to make plans rather than cancel them. It’s something that may also appeal to families, and we’d love to see mums, dads, sons and daughters come along together.

6. Supporting theatre

Australia’s arts community has struggled for its very survival these past two years. There is nothing that screams “I care about this cast of talented performers and all the blood, sweat, tears and countless hours of rehearsals that went into this production” more than putting your bum on an actual seat. Oh, and giving a rousing applause.
