Five things to do with the kids at South.Point this Canberra Day long weekend, so you can make the most of your time off as a family.

Does the thought of the upcoming Canberra Day weekend have you desperate for an activity (or five) to keep your little angels occupied? Well, you’re in luck, because there’s something for everybody happening in Tuggeranong, thanks to a program of special events at South.Point Canberra from Thursday 7 to Monday 11 March.

Bumblebee Meet and Greet

The latest instalment of the Transformers franchise, Bumblebee, tells the story of a teenager named Charlie who discovers a run-down yellow VW bug in a Californian junkyard in 1987. When she polishes him up, she discovers he’s no ordinary car, resulting in an action-packed adventure that older kids and parents alike will love.

Limelight Cinemas are showing $6 sessions of Bumblebee from Friday to Monday at 2.15 pm each day. Book your tickets here to make sure you don’t miss out!

Once you’ve seen the movie, meet your favourite Transformers character Bumblebee at South.Point from 11 am to 2 pm every day from Saturday 9 to Friday 15 March.

While you’re there, swing by Centre Court to see (and hear) the two-metre high boombox and kick your weekend off in style. 

Limelight Cinemas

If superheroes are more your style, check out the brand-new Captain Marvel at Limelight, starring Brie Larson as a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot in Marvel Studios’ first female-led superhero movie.

Want to get the grocery shop done and keep the kids happy at the same time? On Sunday 10 March Limelight will host a Family Fun Day, with creative science experts Bricks 4 Kidz leading a Lego building workshop kicking off at 1.15pm, followed by a screening of the Lego Movie 2 for a whole afternoon of fun!

Story Time

One of South.Point’s most popular events, Story Time by Dymocks, is back on Thursday 7 March in the Kids Corner near Big W from 10am to 11.30pm. Bring along the little ones for free face painting, stories, and craft activities.

iPlay

iPlay entertainment arcade is trading late all Canberra Day weekend, packed with attractions like Pirate Hook, Big Bass and heaps of racing games for kids and those of us who are kids at heart.
