Here’s something to sing about: 88mph has brought back free karaoke!

Posted on

Lovers of ’80s ballads are in for a treat with the news that Canberra’s retro bar has brought back its free karaoke rooms.

Did anyone else just feel the sudden need to belt out a Wham! song?

Quietly taking away the room’s last year, much to the chagrin of wannabe Whitney Houstons everywhere, 88mph recently announced the return of the karaoke rooms, noting “it was a mistake” and “You told us. We listened.”

And in some totally gnarly news, bookings for two brand-new rooms with a fully upgraded system and space for up to 14 people (just enough room to practice your moonwalk) will be free. But before you don your leg warmers, there is a catch: you can only book a free slot on a Wednesday or Thursday night, and this offer is only available for a limited time. So if you want to show off your extensive knowledge of Duran Duran’s repertoire, this is your chance.

With bookings available from 7 pm until late into the night, make the most of their $15 pizzas and $5 beer and wine specials, as well as the iconic light-up dance floor. Cyndi Lauper said it best: girls just want to have fun.
