Go nuts for Christmas!

If you really want to stay in the holiday mood, how about going back to traditions for inspiration? And what better way than having a family trip to the theatre?

Don’t miss the Storytime Ballet: The Nutcracker at Canberra Theatre Centre, now adjusted for younger audiences. Through a charming story and enchanting score, it transforms the traditional festive fairytale into an interactive ballet experience for all kids aged three and older.

Release that inner artist!

The next one on the list is a bit of a filler, but what better way to fully immerse the younger kiddies (lower primary) in the magic of the ballet than a 30-minute interactive workshop made specifically for them?

Let their imaginations run wild when creating their very own Nutcracker peg doll for their most beloved character. And the best part is all the materials will be provided and it won’t leave your house in shambles. A win-win if you ask me.

 Tuesday 9 January, 10:20 am – 10:50 am | Canberra Museum + Gallery, 176 London Circuit, Canberra | cmag.com.au

Let’s have a Par-Tay!

If you have regular dance parties with a little Swiftie, why not step it up and get the closest to experiencing Taylor Swift herself with this all-ages Tay Tay tribute show! A family-friendly event where only Swift’s smash hits from all eras are welcome.

Time to get those sequins and singing voices and head on down to The Harmonie German Club for a unique experience these holidays.

Do beware of attics afterwards. We do not want any new Frankenstein’s being made with all this knowledge of the exciting world of electricity, machines, and motion!

If you’re looking for an activity where all energy can be let out, why not catch some Vitamin D playing at the iconic Pod Playground, designed to spark imagination and curiosity? The space filled with experiences from climbing nets to music-making instruments and swings guarantees fun for hours.

Parents, don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about you. You can relax and enjoy the Arboretum’s breathtaking views of Canberra with a sweet treat and much-needed coffee in hand, thanks to the cafe located on site.
