Want to make new friends?
Posted on
We all know it can sometimes be tricky to make friends in Canberra. Perhaps you’ve moved here and haven’t found someone you’ve clicked with; maybe you’ve moved on from a long time friendship that just doesn’t seem right anymore; or it could be that you’re in a different life stage than your current group of friends.
Whatever the reason, when we published Emma Grey’s article on feeling left out and invited to people to email us if they were interested in coming along to an event where they could meet new people, we were absolutely gobsmacked by the overwhelming and immediate response.
Our first ‘Click + Connect’ night (no, it’s not a Coles grocery ordering service; it’s a night where you can chat to some lovely HerCanberra readers and hopefully make some new besties) was a huge success, so we’ve organised another one! This time it’s at Soju Girl in the city. For $50 (plus 30 cents booking fee) you’ll not only meet some great women, but you’ll get:
A Soju house cocktail
Steamed edamame
Lotus chips
Zucchini flower, sticky rice, Korean pickle, capsicum compote, soy mirin
Handmade gyoza of the day
Crispy pork belly, chili salt, fried apple puree, bacon candy
Vegetarian spring rolls with homemade dipping sauce, and
Homemade sushi rolls
When you register, we’ll ask you to answer a couple of questions about yourself. This is so that we can identify people who may have the same interests or aims as you and we can gently steer you in their direction on the night. We’ll be helping you to break the ice by giving you some conversation starters, facilitating introductions, and generally making you as comfortable as possible.
Get your ticket online from Trybooking – the event will be held at 7pm on Tuesday 10 November and is a women’s only 18+ event. We’d love to see you there!
Oh, and if you want to stay in the loop with HerCanberra events, pop on over and join our Click + Connect Facebook group!
