Westfield is bringing you the perfect weekend outing with their Taste. Shop. Play. event at Woden and Belconnen.
Got plans? Westfield has you sorted for some weekend entertainment—lots of it free—and aimed at all ages. With activities ranging from wine tasting to arts and craft and live music it can’t be missed.
Also, we will be there, ready to pour you a HerCanberra gin if that’s your thing! Here’s a run-down of what’s on, when and where.
Woden
Canberra Distillery
The Canberra Distillery is here to tickle your taste buds and showcase a selection of handcrafted spirits. Learn how to mix and match their delightful beverages with the HerCanberra crew in a gin tasting session.
When: Saturday 9 March & Sunday 10 March
Time: 11am – 2pm
Where: Level 2, near Country Road
Paint and Sip Workshop
This social workshop aims to give you a step-by-step guide to painting with a wine in hand… of course. Have a go at recreating watercolour floral artwork or pop-art style painting to take home at the end of the evening. The event includes a complimentary glass of Canberra region wine and nibbles upon arrival.
It’s ok if you aren’t feeling artistic and just want to jump straight into the wine. Join the team for wine and beer tasting from local sources at the sipping station close by.
When: Friday 8 March

5pm – 6.30pm | Pop Art Style Canberra Theme Painting
7pm – 8.30pm | Canberra Native Floral Watercolour Painting

Guided Craft Session with Cardif Creative
Calling all primary school aged kids to this exciting and fun creative session. Teach your little ones basic sewing and decorating skills by making a felt coin purse or pocket tissue holder with help from Cardif Creative.
Cost: $5
When: 1pm – 1:45pm | 3pm – 3:45pm
Where: Cardif Creative, Mezzanine level. This workshop is accessible via the lift located next to Travelex.

Rest and Reset with L’Occitane
Put your feet up and let your worries wash away when you book your free 30-minute facial with an experience beautician at the L’Occitane pop up store.

Live Music with Mickey Sulit
Don’t forget to take a break from shopping to indulge yourself into the sweet sounds of Mickey Sulit at the Taste. Play. Shop, pop-up bar.

Belconnen
Sips and Sweets Station
Pop past the Sips and Sweets Station for a little treat as you shop this weekend. Suitable for all ages, you can expect a refreshing fruity non-alcoholic spritz or customise your own lolly bag to take home.

Guided Art Workshop
Artist Chris Martin from Splatter is offering a guided workshop to show you how to create an eye-capturing masterpiece. Paint is used here so beware it may get a little messy (smocks will be provided). This is suitable for all ages so bring family or friends along.
Where: Level 3, near Boost Juice
When: 9 & 10 March
Session Times: 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm & 3pm

Face Painting
Don’t forget there is free face painting for the little ones.
