Sunday Supper Club: eightysix
Posted on
July’s Sunday Supper Club features owner of eightysix Gus Armstrong alongside Chef Michael Rees in a night that’s all about modern and innovative Australian cuisine.
When’s the last time you enjoyed a three-course meal cooked by one of Canberra’s leading chefs for less than $50 per person? That’s the concept of the Sunday Supper Club, presented in collaboration with Winning Appliances.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS
On the first Sunday of each month, the Winning Appliances’ Kingston showroom is transformed into an intimate dining environment for just 24 guests.
The next event features owner of eightysix Gus Armstrong alongside Chef Michael Rees at a Sunday Supper Club that’s all about modern and innovative Australian cuisine.
You’ll watch Gus and Michael whip up their creations in the Winning Appliances demonstration kitchen and hear the story of their food journeys in a conversation hosted by HerCanberra CEO Amanda Whitley.
Your ticket price includes matched wines and entertainment.
You’ll leave not only with full stomachs but with loads of ideas and inspirations for entertaining at your place.
ABOUT THE CHEFS

Photography: Tim Bean
From a start as a casual worker at Pizza Hut to the owner of two of Canberra’s most celebrated restaurants Gus Armstrong has been part of the city’s transformation into a foodie paradise.
Chef Michael Rees has been by his side for 10 years of that journey, first at Ellacure then at eightysix, and together they earned a chef’s hat.
Both mens’ stories are of hard work and honing their skills to create memorable and exciting food. We can’t wait to share their journeys with you.
HOW TO GET TICKETS
Rather than a ‘first in, best dressed’ system, we’re inviting people to register their interest in attending a Sunday Supper Club event via this Google Form (don’t worry, you don’t need to sign into Google to register).
You have until 5 pm on Wednesday 26 June to register for the 7 July event with Gus and Michael. From there, we will randomly draw names, and contact those people to see if they—and their nominated number of guests—would like to attend. They’ll then be given further instructions on how they can get their hands on tickets.
