Village Building’s Home Helper will refund your stamp duty

It’s always fun to dream about building your very own home from scratch—being able to include as much storage as you need, designing your dream walk-in wardrobe, and installing your very own in-house sauna (maybe that last bit is just me).

But by the time you think about the cost of the land, builder’s fees, legal fees and stamp duty, it can feel overwhelming.

You can now forget about the final expense thanks to Village Building’s new Home Helper offer. Home Helper will refund your stamp duty, up to $12,000 when you buy land in their brand new community, South Jerrabomberra.

Located just over the border and only 20 minutes from Canberra city, South Jerrabomberra is a brand new, boutique development, boasting vast open spaces, spectacular vistas and beautiful parks. The development will have just 1,500 homes at completion with blocks in Stage 1A now selling.

Village Building has been around for over 30 years, and just like their name suggests, they’re all about building not just suburbs, but thriving communities.

“South Jerrabomberra will be a boutique community where everyone knows everyone and the kids will be playing outside with their neighbours,” says Kiara Bomben from Village Building.

“There will be parks with barbecues, modern playground facilities and magnificent parklands, so the whole neighbourhood will feel like an extension of your own garden.”

Civil construction is well underway and the area already boasts a number of facilities, with much more expected by the time the first residents move in.

The region’s major sports complex with an aquatic centre and sporting fields has also been approved, which will be a thriving hub for locals, and there are plans for a new STEM high school.

A brand new entry road will connect South Jerrabomberra directly to an exceptional range of existing amenities and services including food and retail shopping, petrol stations,  banking, child care, post office, along with medical and fitness outlets.

Fyshwick is also close by, the city is just 20 minutes away, while Tuggeranong is only 10 minutes away down the Monaro Highway.

But despite being so close to everything, Kiara says coming home to South Jerrabomberra will feel like you’re escaping the city altogether.

“You get the best of both worlds—you have easy access to the hustle and bustle of Canberra, but if you want to escape, it’s just a 15 or 20-minute drive home and everything’s quiet out there, and the landscape is beautiful. There are kangaroos jumping around, echidnas, it’s really lovely,” says Kiara.

“And the community is also close to a range of walking and bush trails, so if you’ve got a dog or want to do a bit of exercise, the great outdoors is on your doorstep.”

And unlike a lot of other housing developments, South Jerra isn’t going for the cookie-cutter look.

“Compared to other developments where you have certain restrictions, we have quite a bit of flexibility so you can build your home your own way at South Jerrabomberra,” says Kiara.

“We want diversity in the estate. So you don’t need to come through us with your plans—you just take them straight to the council for approval.”

To help people afford their brand new home, for any new block purchased at South Jerrabomberra by April 30, 2020, Village Building will refund your stamp duty up to $12,000.

The blocks in Stage 1A that are now selling will be ready to build on in mid-2021.

“This means you’ve got a bit of time to save some more or to think about the design of your dream home and talk to a range of builders,” says Kiara.

“Even if you need time to sell your current place, you’ve got that time up your sleeve.”

All purchasers have access to Home Helper. Even where first home buyers are already eligible for a discount on their stamp duty, Village Building will refund any excess amount paid.

Home Helper will give you an added dose of cash to furnish your property, do your landscaping or maybe just to put straight into the mortgage. So why not start thinking about those dream plans after all?
