Help take Abundant Water to Nepal

Social enterprise Abundant Water is seeking support to take its proven method of delivering clean water technology and small business opportunities to help vulnerable women in earthquake-ravaged Nepal.

Abundant Water has taken up the challenge to deliver a four-week vocational training program for ten women identified by the Women’s Rehabilitation Centre in Nepal (WOREC), a leading national organisation that works to prevent violence against women, its causes and consequences.

The organisation’s Tell a Story of Abundance crowd-funding campaign has a goal of raising $20,000 to fund the training course.

CEO Sunny Forsyth, and his Lao colleague, Noukham, will travel to Bhaktapur near Kathmandu to take the approach they have developed over seven years in Laos.

Since 2009 Abundant Water has helped thousands of people in remote communities in Laos by training potters to make their own ceramic drinking water filters and business people to market and sell these filters, creating sustainable clean water businesses.

Following the devastating earthquake in Nepal in April 2015, Abundant Water was approached by the Women’s Rehabilitation Centre to help some of their most vulnerable women who need both an affordable means of providing safe drinking water and income opportunities.
