Nothing says “comfort” like a curry, and Canberra’s overnight café can cure any cravings you have. Located in Narrabundah, Kita is known for its cosy vibes, and soul-warming Indo-fusion food.

Open from 6 pm and serving food until 5 am, from laksa to their curry of the week, you’ll be sure to leave feeling warm and happy.

As one of Canberra’s highly awarded restaurants, not only is the food at OTIS top tier, but it’s also a cosy venue for a night out. With dark interiors and a warm and inviting feel, order iconic dishes like the OTIS pepper steak and the pumpkin and sage raviolo and enjoy the fine dining experience as the temperature drops.

Rama’s Fijian Indian Restaurant (Pearce)

A Canberra institution known for its Fijian-Indian dishes (think: pakoras, samosas and curries), a meal at Rama’s is what you need on a cold night. Tucked into the Pearce Shops, the menu caters to all dietaries and is available to eat in or takeaway if the call of your couch is too strong.

With Indian favourites and lesser-known Fijian specialties available, all we can say is there’s a reason Rama’s is always a go-to recommendation in Canberra.

This Filipino eatery showcases traditional flavours of the Philippines – perfect for a cosy meal out. With a rotating menu, here, each week you’ll discover something different. But as the cold weather hits, their Bagnet (deep-fried pork belly with a spiced soy vinegar dip), Chopsuey and Beef Empanada sound particularly good.

End the meal with their hot and freshly made soybean pudding (served with raw sugar syrup and tapioca pearls) and thank us later.

Lunetta (Red Hill)

With an Italian-inspired menu and a stunning outlook, a meal at Red Hill’s Lunetta will inspire you to leave the house even on the coldest of nights. What’s more comforting than wood-fired baked lumache alla vodka, Borrowdale Farm pork chop and marinated wood-roasted red peppers with almond, balsamic and olive oil?

Seating only 82 people, you’ll want to book ahead for a meal at this restaurant.

Ramen is always a good idea in winter, and Canberra’s only late-night ramen spot is the place to go. Open until 12 am from Tuesday to Sunday, Ikigai Ramen serves a taste of Tokyo without the need to book a plane ticket. Their signature Tonkotsu Ramen is a must try, while their Ebi Curry Ramen turns up the heat. Talk about soul food…
