$4 tacos and edible coffee cups: Multicultural Festival city deals you need to know about
Posted on
We’re all getting excited for the triumphant return of the National Multicultural Festival, which will see performances, parades and food stalls take over the city this weekend from 17-19 February.
But did you know there are also special deals to be had alongside the festival?
This year, the City Renewal Authority has unveiled a suite of offers from city cafés, restaurants and shops for attendees to take advantage of as part of the festival—and there are some crackers.
At Loquita in Garema Place, settle into their vibey outdoor area for $4 tacos; or grab a small coffee or hot chocolate in an edible cup (yes, you read that right) from Your Way in Canberra Centre for just $5.
At iconic Gus’ Place you’ll score a free coffee with any meal purchased; and you’ll save 5% on your bill of $50 or 10% on your bill of $100 at both The Cupping Room and Chez Fred. Craving the flavours of Vietnam? Head to Miss Van’s for 15% off bills over $125.
Thirsty after a long day of watching stunning Multi-Culti performances? Head to Amici for $15 Aperol Spritzes and Limoncello Spritzes (available all weekend!) or to The Highball Express’ new location on the corner of Northbourne and London Circuit for $15 Mojitos from 4–7 pm. Like we needed an excuse.

Can’t get enough live music? Cap off the weekend in style on Sunday with free music from the Gypsy Jazz Project at Amici from 2–4.30 pm and live jazz at Molly courtesy of the Molly House Band from 7.30 pm.
And if you’re feeling all the culinary inspiration after a weekend of international flavours, stop by The Hospitality Shop on Genge Street on your way home to take advantage of a 10% discount store-wide across 17–19 February.

The City Renewal Authority hopes that these offers encourage even more connection between the city and the Multicultural Festival, giving attendees oodles of reasons to explore the city centre to its full extent this weekend. Go on, make a day (or three) of it, Canberra.

Are you a business keen to participate?
While the opportunity to advertise an offer is limited to permanent businesses, city centre and Braddon cafés, restaurants and stores wanting to offer a deal during the Multicultural Festival (17–19 February) are encouraged to sign up at: nmf.inthecity.com.au/for-businesses.
