The Eastlakes Football Club in Gungahlin is set to transform into a celebration of inclusion on Friday, May 9 when ACT Down Syndrome & Intellectual Disability Association (ACTDSID) will be hosting its much-anticipated event, ‘Inclusion & Cocktails’.
More than just a stylish soirée, this cocktail-style evening is designed to spotlight the beauty of inclusivity in all forms. The night’s signature moment? The unveiling of the ‘Inclusion Cocktail’, a bespoke creation by local distillery and master collaborators, Underground Spirits. Crafted with the intention of symbolising unity and diversity, this drink promises to be as meaningful as it is delicious.
Special guests John Jarratt and Gerard O’Dwyer, two Aussie actors known for their roles in the 2023 film “What About Sal” will join the fun. Their film, a moving tale of family, resilience, and the experience of a young man with Down syndrome navigating a personal journey, mirrors the very themes the night seeks to champion – inclusion, and the right to choose. On the night, the pair will reflect on their collaboration and the significance of authentic representation in the entertainment industry.
As ACTDSID CEO Shannon Kolak puts it: “The Inclusion & Cocktails gala is a chance to connect, inspire change, and share in the incredible stories of our community.”
