Coffee for a good cause? Buy a cuppa for a carer this festive season

Next time you’re getting yourself a coffee, why not get one for a local carer?

Carers ACT has partnered with Two Before Ten cafes to launch their Cuppa for a Carer campaign, encouraging locals to support unpaid carers in a unique and easy way.

We’re invited to donate the cost of a cup of coffee (or more!) either in-store or online, to help provide services and support for the carers in our community.

“Caring is rewarding but can also be isolating and overwhelming,” Lisa Kelly, CEO of Carers ACT said.

“A small gesture, like buying a ‘cuppa’ for a carer, can go a long way in ensuring they feel recognised, supported, and valued.”

It’s not a complicated process either – there will be a QR code at the front counter which you can scan and then donate. Alternatively, you can use cash and drop it into the dedicated jars in store.

Matt To’omua from Two Before Ten says they’re proud to be able to support carers who play such a critical role in the community.

“By helping the people of Canberra donate the price of a coffee, we can help provide support, like a much-needed break, for those who give so much of themselves to others.”

Funds raised through the campaign will contribute to services such as respite breaks, and wellbeing programs for carers.

It looks like this could be the start of more campaigns between the two, with Carers ACT thanking Chris Dennis and Matt To’omua from Two Before Ten for their help in bringing the campaign to life!

“This is the start of a long partnership with an organisation that shares our values and our commitment to the people of Canberra,” Lisa Kelly said.

“We now invite everyone to spread the word, make a donation, and help ensure carers feel supported this holiday season.”
