A Champagne-fuelled evening is taking over Royal Canberra Golf Club

From a Champagne tasting among the rose gardens to a paired dinner, The Champagne Experience is bringing a little French fizz to Yarralumla this October.

If your idea of a good evening involves excellent Champagne, beautiful surroundings and something delicious to eat, there’s a new event worth raising a glass to.

On Wednesday 28 October, The Champagne Experience will take over the Royal Canberra Golf Club, bringing together a hand-picked selection of Champagnes, canapés and a multi-course dinner for an evening dedicated to one of the world’s most celebrated wines.

The event is being run by Red Hill Wine Club’s Brendan Irvine and Adam Wade, inspired by a recent trip to Taste of Champagne, where the pair tasted an extraordinary 252 Champagnes and had the opportunity to meet Champagne expert Tyson Stelzer.

Returning to Canberra with plenty of tasting notes and new favourites, they decided to create their own event – one that would bring some of that Champagne discovery closer to home.

The result is an evening with two distinct experiences, giving guests the option to dip into the world of Champagne or settle in for the full affair.

The first is a Champagne tasting set among the rose gardens at Royal Canberra Golf Club, accompanied by a selection of canapés. Guests can wander, taste and discover a carefully selected line-up spanning everything from elegant, refined bottles to the standouts that made the Irvine’s tasting notes.

For those who prefer their Champagne with a side of dinner, the evening continues with a set menu prepared by the Royal Canberra kitchen, with each course matched to a carefully chosen Champagne.

And if choosing between the two sounds like an unnecessary complication, there’s a combined ticket that includes both experiences – starting with the tasting and canapés before moving through to dinner.

With its rose gardens and sweeping golf course surrounds, Royal Canberra Golf Club offers a fitting backdrop for an evening that invites guests to slow down, try something new and enjoy a glass or two.
