eightysix south is closing it’s doors, and you have six weeks left to get your hands on banoffee pie

Posted on
It’s a sad day for southside foodies with the announcement that eightysix south is closing its doors.
Announced on Instagram, on Monday 30 June, the popular mod Italian restaurant will cease service, giving you only six weeks to make the most of their banoffee pie, house rolled pastas and other cult favourites.
Taking over the space in March 2022, it helped to bring the area to life while also offering something a little different to its iconic Braddon big brother, eightysix north. And while the Braddon location will remain open, there’s something bittersweet about its southern cousin shutting up shop.

But the team says it’s not all ‘doom and gloom.’ Instead, they will be heading back to Braddon (where it all began) to refocus, leaving the space in the hands of two brothers who will ‘make it their own.’
Curious what that means? We are, and the moment we know, we’ll share the news.
In the meantime, make sure to pop down to make the most of the final nights of service – and keep an eye out, because they say that “No doubt you will find some southern favourites creeping onto the north menu over the next couple of months.”
With seats sure to book out fast, make sure to plan ahead so the blackboard menu isn’t wiped clean when you get there.
