Signs are up and shopfronts are a hive of activity as Kingston’s new Eyre Street Market opens in the coming days and weeks.
A new strip of 13 eateries, specialty shops and a massive (no, seriously, it is huge!) Supabarn will be serviced by a 400-space underground carpark—all overlooking Green Square.
Only the Supabarn is open at this stage, and already it is doing a brisk trade and looking very schmick with neon signage, wide aisles and a product range which includes a sizeable cheese section, butcher, fresh seafood selection, baked goods aplenty and a Home Kitchen where you can order a fresh-cooked pizza, deli goods, patisserie goods and fresh-churned gelato.
Public Service Announcement: every kid gets free gelato. We checked twice, and this seems to be an ongoing thing. It really is taking grocery shopping up a notch.
Did you want to see the cheese? We did. Can confirm a good selection.
Meanwhile outside, we are getting excited about the impending arrival of Wildflour Kingston. Having set new standards for bread, baked goods and sweet treats out of its Fyshwick flagship store, Wildflour Kingston will offer fresh-baked everything and Ona coffee. What more could south-siders want? It’s due to throw open its doors once it passes the necessary approvals.
While there is still lots of work to be done on fit-outs for Tokyo Canteen, NOI NOI Vietnamese Kitchen, Mochacos Mexican Chicken Fiesta, V+IN+E and Lava, it all seems to be coming together quickly. We will keep you updated!
