Five dishes we’re loving now that warm weather is here
Posted on
With the warm weather finally here, it’s time to eat lighter, brighter and better.
As our cravings turn towards bright and citrusy flavours, punchy chilli, and herbs so fresh you can practically smell the garden, these five dishes feel as refreshing as they taste – perfect for midweek balmy evenings, weekend dinners and summertime catchups.
From seafood that melts on your tongue to salads you’ll actually crave, these are five dishes we’re currently loving in Canberra.
The Ceviche Fiesta from Inka

Nothing says ‘summer’ like ceviche, and Inka is the place to go to sink your teeth into this famous Latin American dish. With three options to choose from (including one totally vegetarian option), it’s the Ceviche Fiesta that you’ll be craving on a hot day.
This seafood medley comes in a coconut-based Leche de Tigre and is served with grapefruit and orange – the perfect mix of sweet, spicy and fresh.

The Poke Bowl from Brew & Crust

Grilled salmon cubes served in a colourful array of salad and topped with avocado, green beans and seaweed – this poke bowl is anything but bland.
Drizzled with a soy-based poke sauce, not only is it very nutritious (thanks to the fish and plenty of fresh vegetables), but it’s also delicious. Order yourself an iced matcha latte and enjoy the refreshing combination.

Silky, melt-in-your-mouth tofu served in a lightly sweet ginger syrup – this is one dessert vegetarians and meat-eaters alike will enjoy.
This sweet, silken bean curd is packed full of quintessential Vietnamese flavours and while it might not sound like a summer staple, trust us when we say the combination of flavours will become your new obsession on long days and hot nights.

The Snapper from The Inn

Summer always makes us crave seafood and this dish at The Inn will become your new obsession. Served alongside blood orange, Aleppo chilli, and dill, the snapper is so light and fresh it melts in your mouth while also giving you a nice little kick.
Pretty as a picture, we won’t blame you if the camera eats it before you do.
