We’re back, back, back again with another instalment of your favourite column—New Places to Eat in Canberra.
This month, grab an avo toast at Dickson’s newest brunch spot, take your Korean barbeque to the next level and get all the goss on the city’s up and coming eateries.
Hanok Korean Fine BBQ (Woden)
There is a wide gap between fine dining and a barbecue. But Hanok is doing something to bridge it—providing Canberrans with a chance to enjoy “fine barbecue” in Westfield Woden’s bustling Bradley Street dining precinct.
It’s a fun way to explore flavour as diners are given the option of cooking their food themselves at the small charcoal grill stations located in their tables. And for those who don’t rate their own culinary skills highly, trained staff are always on hand, keeping an eye on proceedings and ready to step in and take over if the diner wanted.

There’s just one hint in this new restaurant’s fresh Instagram—that Dada will be serving up Modern Asian.
We don’t have much to go on here, but if their star-studded list of followers is anything to go by, this will be something very exciting from a big name. Stay tuned for all the goss.

Sourdog Provisions (Nicholls)
Nicholls will soon join the leagues of Canberra suburbs with their own artisanal deli when Sourdog Provisions opens in late autumn and all we can say is: jealous.
While their Instagram is light on visuals and details, Sourdog describes themselves as a “neighbourhood deli, bakery and providore” stocking “freshly baked goods, cakes, pastries and pies made in-house daily”.
