That’s right—Australian Cocktail Month is coming to Canberra this May and here are six places to celebrate.

Did you know that May is Australian Cocktail Month? Well sit us down and pour us a strong one because not one, not two, but six Canberra bars are ready to show you a good time from 1–31 May and we have all the goss.

Taking part in this year’s celebrations are six Canberra are industry legends Miss Vans, Bar Rochford, High Jinks, Molly, Volstead Repeal and Zaab. Pretty much all the places we’d send you for a stiff drink on any given day.

But during May, these venues will also be featuring special celebratory cocktails for just $14, which you can access with a $20 one-off ticket. Struggling to do the maths? Had one too many Amaretto Sours already?

Essentially, a $20 Australian Cocktail Month ticket gets you access to these special off-menu cocktails, which you’ll score for just $14 each.

Don’t drink alcohol? Dry as the martinis you once used to love? Never fear—you’ll also score special $10 non-alcoholic cocktails at these venues, with a zero proof menu featuring delish non-alcoholic spirits from Lyres and mixers from Fever-Tree. Swoon.

Founded by influential industry figure Penny Sippe, Australian Cocktail Month aims to provide assistance to the hospitality industry by driving people into bars as they rebuild following the pandemic.

“I am so excited for another year of Australian Cocktail Month,” says Penny. “Year two and we have more cities and double the bars involved. Encouraging consumers to head out and explore the bars that make our cities so vibrant whilst enjoying amazing cocktails created by some of the country’s best bartenders is our goal.”
