Run, don’t walk: Grease Monkey is now open at Westfield Woden
Posted on
Sunday is the day patient southsiders get to experience their own permanent Grease Monkey when the doors open at Westfield Woden’s Bradley Street dining precinct.
Having flown the flag from Braddon, Grease Monkey fans can now get their Greasy burgers and pizza in Westfield Woden.
Bringing the same industrial feels to the Bradley Street dining precinct with moody interiors, metal accents and a lush burst of indoor plants, Grease Monkey Director Nick Tuckwell says a state-of-the-art kitchen will ensure food stays hot and greasy for as long as possible.
“Our food truck has been set-up at The Pits [in nearby Phillip] for the past two years and the Woden community has got right behind us, so it’s great we can now open the doors on a permanent shop.”
“The past couple of years has been really challenging for the Canberra food scene, and we want to thank everyone that has supported us. We’re really proud we’ve been able to continue our plans to expand and open more Greasy’s in the ACT.”

Devotees will be pleased to hear that all their favourites will be on the Woden menu, including Greasy burgers, Detroit-style Pizza and Greasy Fried Chicken.
A strong beverage offering will be available with cocktails and Grease Monkey’s signature independent and craft brews on tap. Plus, the team will be giving away 500 free Greasy burgers from 11am this Sunday 12 December to celebrate the opening! But get in quick—they will not last long.
Meanwhile, in more exciting news for the southside, The Pits will be moving to a new location at Kingston in the new year.
