Never know what to give your foodie friend for their birthday?
eightysix have made it easy, announcing yesterday via Instagram Stories on their @eightysixsouth account that they’re launching their iconic Banoffee Pie in an XL – and it’s now available to order.
While one Canberran was lucky enough to score a freebie, orders are now open by emailing south@eightysix.com.au.
A symphony of luscious caramel, salty pretzel, fresh banana, whipped cream and chocolate shavings, there’s a reason this dessert hasn’t left the menu since eightysix north opened in 2013.
We even revealed the recipe recently, after hospitality veteran Chris Hansen was given permission to share it in his forthcoming book, Chefs Eat Canberra.
However, if you’d like someone else to do the cooking, eightysix south is ready and waiting, stating that orders must be placed 24 hours in advance, with each birthday cake-sized pie costing $86 each (cute).
Speaking of, did you know you can also order a ‘family-sized’ lasagne from eightysix south for pick up on Saturdays for just $65 via email?
Now when you tell your partner “We’re not going out, we have eightysix at home”, you’ll actually mean it.
