Friday Night Drinks at Old Parliament House are back, baby
Posted on
Gen X and millennials, it’s time to get nostalgic. That’s right—Friday nights at OPH are back! And Gen Z? Allow us to introduce you to your fave new tradition.
If you’re of a certain vintage, you may remember the good old days of heading to the House of Reps Courtyard at Old Parliament House for after-work drinks. Well, they’re back! Or at least they soon will be.
Originating back in the early 2000s, OPH was the place to be on Friday. Thousands of punters would head to the courtyard to enjoy cheap beers, cocktails, delish food, and good tunes.
And while the Canberra bar scene has changed over the last couple of decades, the recipe for a good night out has not, and the revived OPH drinks will reprise all the elements that made the original such a success, including a new partnership with Capital Brewing Co., who will be tapping their best, including spring brew ‘Purple Reign Berry Sour’, Capital Coast Ale, Trial Ale and booze-free Alc-Less.
Kicking off from 5 pm Friday 22 September, the relaunch will take place monthly and boast some familiar musical faces with Ashley Feraude playing the first night, with plenty more names to come across spring and summer.
Welcome to your new-old Friday night—save us a seat?
