Fusion: the art of eating

Good food and beautiful objects are some of my favourite things. So a night where I can experience them at the same time, and support Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre and its designers and craft practitioners? I’m so there.

Fusion: the art of eating is Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre‘s fundraising event for 2013, and sees the region’s designers and artists teaming up with local restaurants to produce a fusion of fabulous food and inspiring design. The brief is simple: serve the finest in local produce on quality designed and created objects.

Designers and artists including Fink & Co, Alison Jackson, Mitchell Brooks, Dan Lorrimer and Greg Daly will fuse their creations with restaurants including Soju Girl, Mocan & Green Grout and Two Before Ten, with more collaborations in the making. The result? Eight unforgettable food and design fusions of the finest cuisine served on the latest table ware by local designers.

Why not get along to experience the results of this unique designer and restaurateur pairing, whilst enjoying a selection of local wines and arguably some of Canberra’s best views from Level 9 of New Acton’s Nishi Building. Emceed by Genevieve Jacobs, the evening will also include a silent auction featuring work by key Canberra artists, an artist talk, a raffle of local produce and product, door prize by renowned silversmith Oliver Smith and performances by local award winning musicians, Michael Liu and Xavier Dunn.

If you can’t make it to this great event, you can still support Craft ACT with a tax deductible donation of your choice.
