I for one am excited for Burger Sauce Hot Cross Buns (plus where to find more traditional HCBs around Canberra)

Posted on

There’s a fierce debate raging in the HerCanberra office at the moment and it’s anything but political.

In fact, buns are at the centre of this debate, namely, the Burger Sauce Hot Cross Buns unveiled by Coles that triggered an office tailspin so cataclysmic we were all ordered to work from home today to prevent bloodshed.

Just kidding (mostly).

It’s not just For/Against these delicious/monstrous creations, either. I personally would love to try them, which horrifies our Editorial Coordinator Erin. Then again, I concede, I don’t like traditional Hot Cross Buns. Now our Content Creator Elaine is horrified. There are no winners here.

Instead, while you, dear reader, decide whether to partake in this new twist on Easter eating (more contentious than Coles v Woolies, really) you can feast your eyes on a list of bakeries that might have some traditional HCBs left in stock before the big day.

I repeat—not all of these places will have Hot Cross Buns left in stock! But you never know…

Three Mills Bakery

Three Mills seems to be first off the mark this year (according to Instagram anyway) and is actually stocking HCBs from today, if you feel a hankerin’ after reading this article.
