Nothing says winter comfort food more than pie. There’s just something about the crisp pastry…
Just in time for the Christmas social rush, LiloTang—one of Canberra’s favourite restaurants—has reopened with a stylish new fit-out while still offering the inventive and fun dishes that have made it a must-visit on the gastronomic map for locals and visitors alike.
“Much to the disappointment of its loyal clientele of fans, the doors to LiloTang were briefly closed to allow us to give the restaurant a major facelift, but I think the wait will prove worth it when people see the new space designed by Capezio Copeland,” DOMA Director of Food & Beverage, Thomas Craigie said.
The beautiful new interior offers a feast for the eyes with a wall dedicated to Manga and the bar has been extended both inside and out.
“I think the option for outdoor dining will be warmly embraced. Canberrans love to socialise outside and we are really pleased we have been able to expand LiloTang to offer this choice,” Thomas said.
“LiloTang has built a reputation as one of our city’s most innovative Japanese eateries. Along with the new interior, the revitalised LiloTang has a brand new menu full of exciting and original dishes.”
Dishes such as pork and prawn potstickers with ginger and shallot; braised Wagyu beef brisket on a bao with lettuce and ssamjung; and sand whiting tempura, sansho pepper amazu, spicy ponzu will reflect the heritage LiloTang has established while offering new combinations to tempt the palate.
“Our chefs took our invitation to be inventive and ran with it,” Thomas said. “Desserts will include creations like barrel Japanese whiskey chocolate fondant, peanut & chocolate crumble with cherry ice cream; or black sesame meringue with yuzu curd and mango ice cream.
“We have ‘feed me’ options which will allow customers to try a variety of dishes when dining with us at lunch or dinner all for a set price.”
“Lilobar is where you can simply enjoy a drink and bar snacks and features a fabulous drinks menu including tap beers, cocktails and an extensive selection of wine, Sake and whiskey.”
And by extensive, there are nearly 80 whiskey options alone.
“And of course, takeaway will be available. Experience LiloTang highlights from the acclaimed menu – sushi, bento boxes and poke bowls for takeaway convenience. Whether you’re keen for a quick lunch or a luxurious dining experience in the comfort of your home.”
